At 2:00 p.m. today, Thursday, August 21, Stratford High School athletic department was notified by Dorchester District 2 (DD2) athletic officials of an important update regarding student attendance at athletic events held at DD2 facilities.
Effective immediately, any student or minor planning to attend an athletic contest at a DD2 facility must either present a student ID or be accompanied by an adult. In lieu of a physical student ID, DD2 officials will accept proof of a student’s PowerSchool account—either in digital or printed form. Please note that students may also be asked to provide an additional form of identification, such as a driver’s license, to support the PowerSchool information.
The first event affected by this policy will be our upcoming football game at Summerville High School, scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, August 22.
Please be advised that this is a Dorchester District 2 policy, and neither Berkeley County School District (BCSD) nor Stratford High personnel have jurisdiction over these procedures.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we comply with the guidelines set by DD2.
