It is hard to describe the amount of fun we had at the 3rd Annual Warrior Color Run at Westview Middle yesterday! Students had a blast getting doused in color powder, hanging with friends and staff, and enjoying the nice warm weather. Make sure you are there with us next year!

Today, 31 students traveled to the Summer’s Corner Performing Arts Center to perform for SCMEA CPA (Choral Performance Assessment). Students in each choir performed two selections for three judges, then had to sight-sing 16 measures of unfamiliar three part music for another judge. The judges rated Chorus 1 as “Superior” and Chamber Choir as “Superior with Distinction!” This marks three years in a row of Superior ratings at CPA, and this was the first time that two choirs were evaluated from WVM. Congratulations to the students and Ms. Malcher for all of their hard work and achievement!

Westview Middle is proud to announce that we have been recognized as a Jostens Renaissance Culture Builder for our dedication to creating a positive and supportive school environment during the month of February! Students were challenged to be in class and on time each day. Winning homerooms were visited by a chip cart and teachers got to spin a wheel full of prizes. WVM strives for regular student attendance because it is crucial for academic success and a positive school climate.

The state of South Carolina has adopted new math standards for the 2025-2026 school year and our Warrior Teachers are ready! Dr. Manchester led math standards training with our 8th grade teachers this week, and worked on vertical articulation. Teachers looked at how the standards will iterate from 6th to 8th grade and what this will mean for student learning!

Bravo! History Made at Westview Middle!
For the first time in nearly 50 years, the Westview Middle School band has achieved an incredible milestone! Fourteen of our talented middle school musicians participated in the SCBDA Jazz Performance Assessment at Charleston Southern University—and they earned a Superior rating (with distinction) with straight 1s, the highest score possible!
We are beyond proud of these students and the dedication they have shown to their craft. A huge congratulations to Mr. Ward for his leadership and the outstanding program he has built. This is just the beginning of great things to come!

Our Renaissance team challenged students all week to be in class and on time. Students were visited by a chip cart and teachers got to spin a wheel full of prizes! Regular student attendance is crucial for academic success because it ensures consistent learning, engagement, and the development of essential skills.

Congratulations to our "Staffulty of the Month" for January, Mrs. Ambrose! She is continuously working to build positive relationships across the building and is always super helpful. We are happy to have her at Westview Middle!

Teacher Spotlight: Ms. Still!
At Westview Middle our teachers go above and beyond to ensure student success! This week, Ms. Still, one of our dedicated 8th-grade math teachers, identified a learning gap during her PLC and took immediate action. Today, she executed a thoughtful and intentional reteach to support her students' understanding.
We are so proud of Ms. Still and all of our incredible teachers who work tirelessly to meet the needs of our students every day. Keep up the great work!

Congratulations to Aria Lovejoy for being the top seller for our Double Good Popcorn fundraiser. Aria will get to pie Dr. Bradley at an upcoming event.

Our 7th graders really stepped up their persuasive writing game! Their teachers and Dr. Bradley challenged them with a $1000 budget to create the best essay about what our school needs. Huge shoutout to our winners: Lola M, who dreams of starting a news show with an iPad, and Beck B, who wants soccer goals for recess! #PersuasiveWriting #StudentVoices #ELA.C.1
