It’s important for fans, parents and community members to understand Berkeley County School District's “Clear Bag or No Bag” entry procedure will be in place for athletic events.

The proactive measure was launched in the fall of 2017 by the BCSD Safety and Security Office to improve and advance district safety measures.

“Our goal is to create an environment that our fans and guests can enjoy with the peace of mind that we are continuing to take proactive steps to ensure their safety and the safety of their families,” said BCSD Director of Safety and Security Tim Knight.

Each ticketed individual will be permitted to carry one clear tote bag, not to exceed 12” x 6 x 12” and a small clutch or wallet can be included in this clear tote if it does not exceed 4.5” x 6.5”. A clear tote bag is not required in order to carry small permissible items such as keys, wallets, cell phones, credit cards, cash, etc., which should be carried in a pocket.

Prohibited items include weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco and electronic cigarettes.

“We prefer our fans and guests to attend athletic events without carrying any bag; however, we understand that it is necessary for some individuals to utilize a non-clear bag for medically necessary items or equipment,” Knight said.

If an individual cannot utilize a clear bag for a medical reason, they will be required to speak with a designated gate administrator and the bag will be subject to search.

Please be reminded that once you have received clearance to enter the event, you will not be allowed to re-enter if you choose to leave at any time. As safety and security is our number one priority, BCSD will continue exploring all options to advance and improve safety and security measures in line with common procedures implemented at major events that have the potential to attract a large crowd.

The "Clear Bag or No Bag" entry procedure will be in place for all varsity sporting events.

Gameday Guidelines for Athletic Events

• All elementary and middle school attendees are required to be accompanied by an adult (parent/guardian) Elementary and middle school students not accompanied by an adult will be instructed to call someone to come to the event to accompany them or will need to be picked up to leave the event.

• All spectators must be seated during the event unless utilizing the concession and/or restrooms.

• CBHS athletic events follow SCHSL NO RE-ENTRY policy. If an attendee exits an event venue, he or she will not be able to re-enter

• All BCSD events adhere to "Clear Bag No Bag" guidelines

• No outside food or drinks will be allowed into the facility. This includes Yeti/Stanley Cups etc.

• All spectators must go thru Weapon Detection Screening prior to entering the stadium.

• Tickets will not be sold and admittance will be stopped at the end of the 3rd quarter for Varsity Football

Bags not allowed include: purses, bags or containers larger than a small clutch, backbacks, binoculars cases, briefcases, camera bags, clinch bangs, coolers, diaper bags, fanny packs, grocery/trash bags, luggage of any kind, mesh bags, tinted plastic bags.
