Contact sports is associated with a 45% of all emergent visits for athletic related TBI and concussion incidents for ages 17 and under.

In the Top ten ranked youth sports with the Highest Rates of concussions, ranked 2nd is Girl's Soccer, as Female athletes have a higher chance of sustaining concussions and TBI related injuries than male athletes and typically have longer recovery times and more severe symptoms. While boy's soccer is ranked 9th it is still just as important in prevention and awareness.
