We proudly recognize two student-athletes who have left an undeniable mark on Berkeley High School — Madison “Maddie Don’t Miss” Thomas and Hudson “Huddie Two Rings” Clark.
These two stand among the most accomplished athletes in our 112-year school history. Each played a key role in bringing home the only state championships ever won in their respective sports — girls basketball and baseball. Their names are forever linked to moments that will be remembered in Stag Nation for generations.
What makes their achievements even more impressive is the work no one sees: the early mornings, late nights, countless repetitions, and the relentless effort they put in when the stands are empty. Their journeys reflect the best of Berkeley Athletics — grit, humility, and a commitment to excellence.
The odds of reaching this moment speak volumes. Only about 4% of high school girls’ basketball players and 6% of high school baseball players move on to compete at the collegiate level. Maddie and Hudson have earned their place in that select group through consistency, character, and an unwavering competitive spirit.
Both athletes also share a defining trait — a quiet confidence that sets the tone for their teams. They lead by example, play the game the right way, and represent Berkeley High School with genuine class.
Maddie has grown from a talented shooter into one of the most complete players in the state, becoming a dominant defensive presence and a cornerstone of last year’s championship run. Her toughness and ability to take over late in big games highlight just how far she has come.
Hudson made an impact as a young player during the 2022 state championship season and continued to evolve, ultimately helping lead the Stags back to the top in 2025. His steady improvement and consistent performance define what it truly means to Find A Way.
