Berkeley High School Celebrates Collegiate-Bound Student-Athletes

This morning, Berkeley High School proudly celebrated a special group of student-athletes who represent the very best of Stag Nation. The ceremony honored seniors who have earned the opportunity to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level, a milestone achieved through years of hard work, sacrifice, and commitment.

Before recognizing each athlete, Berkeley High School extended sincere gratitude to the parents and coaches who made this moment possible. From early-morning practices to late-night training sessions, weekend tournaments, and travel ball commitments, their support, encouragement, and belief played a critical role in each student-athlete’s journey.

Boys Basketball: Damien “Deuce” Kinloch

Damien “Deuce” Kinloch will continue his academic and athletic career at Davidson–Davie Junior College.

A proud product of Moncks Corner, Deuce embodies what it means to be a Berkeley Stag. Last season, he helped lead the Stags to a Lower State Championship appearance and earned All-State honors. His career has included overcoming multiple injuries, yet he never allowed adversity to diminish his leadership. Even while sidelined, Deuce accepted a new role as a vocal leader on the bench and continued serving others by helping coach the sixth grade team, showing younger players what excellence on and off the court truly looks like.

Girls Basketball: Demi Gray

Demi Gray will continue her career at Spartanburg Methodist College.

Demi’s infectious personality and daily energy have been instrumental in the Lady Stags’ success. She helped lead Berkeley to its first-ever girls basketball state championship last season, cementing her place in program history. Demi competes with toughness and heart, always playing for something bigger than herself.

Girls Soccer: Samantha Miles

Samantha Miles will continue her academic and athletic career at Spartanburg Methodist University.

Samantha exemplifies the complete student-athlete, achieving exceptional success in the classroom while meeting the demands of varsity athletics. Her discipline, consistency, and commitment established her as a leader within the program and a role model for future Lady Stags.

Girls Golf: Jenna Kate Hoffman

Jenna Kate Hoffman will continue her golf career at Converse University.

Jenna Kate carried a proud Stag legacy with class and quiet determination. Her steady work ethic, often unseen, developed her into a fierce competitor on the course while remaining one of the kindest young ladies in the program.

Baseball: Kobe Thomas

Koby Thomas will continue his academic and athletic career at North Carolina A&T State University.

A member of last year’s state championship team, Koby battled through injury and adversity with relentless determination. His perseverance has brought him back stronger than ever, serving as a powerful reminder that setbacks do not define you, how you respond does. As the Stags say: Find a Way.

Each athlete honored represents a small percentage of high school competitors who earn the opportunity to play at the next level. That opportunity was earned through resilience, discipline, and belief.

Berkeley High School thanks the families and coaches who supported these student-athletes every step of the way, and proudly recognizes this outstanding group for representing the Stags with character and class. #BetterAtBerkeley
